In light of Illinois’ continuing budget reform, we will focus our 2011 legislative agenda on increasing dental funding and offering provider incentives for services performed on children using a variety of strategies that include:
Increase funding levels for specialty dental treatment.
Develop a pilot program in designated shortage areas that increases rates up to 64 percent of the reimbursement level.
Develop an incentive program that awards dentists who are enrolled as a “dental home” to children.
In addition, we will partner with the Cook County Board to analyze the results of the Cook County Department of Public Health Dental Program Study and determine the best course of action to achieve proper oral health care to the underserved residents of Cook County.
